Hello David
Last week, you posted that "later this year the server on which the openWRF Aegean area forecasts are run, will be upgraded and the WRF will be a recent version and improved setting will be used". Regarding this I have two questions:

1- Will this cover all areas where the openWRF forecasts are run or will it cover the Aegean area only?
2- What version of WRF will be used? Is it the latest version (WRF 4.4)?

Does the WRF version only will be upgraded for all forecast areas or this includes also the server and the settings?

Both new version and different settings available in WRF since ver 4. Also more powerful servers to support the 'heavier' schemes.

Hi,

You mentioned that all forecast areas will be upgraded over several months.
Did you mean that the upgrade will take place in the coming months? Will all forecast areas be upgraded before December 2022 ?

Perhaps!
It depends on finding suitable used serves at attractive prices and 3 servers need replacement. There is no commitment to December, only a wish.
As you probably know openWRF/openGribs has no budget and is operating on a shoe string.
If you happen to be aware of anyone able to contribute decommissioned 8-9th Generation 1U servers with 20-28 physical CPU cores, please let me know.
