Hello,
the "File -> IAC fleetcode NOAA -> forecast +24h" shows the same chart every day (see attachment 2.jpg), there is no update for this chart.

Can anybody help?

Hi kocki,

The Analysis appears to be in order and current.
You are correct. There is a problem with the second option for 24 hours forecast.
I need to check where the problem is and fix it.
I will open an "issue" on Github

Hello,
I try to get IAC Flletcode NOAA through Opencpn: even if situation has changed over time (+6 hours). Prevision +24h have not change.
I suggest to check a couple of days as I believe the problem may be side of NOAA.

I examined this issue and found that the 24 hour forecast file has not been updated in NOAA Ocean Prediction Center's ftp server since 30 January 2014.
I corresponded with the Ocean Prediction Center about this and they informed me that both IAC fleet code products are produced by the UK Met Office and that they have not received the 24 hour forecast product for years.

The UK Met office does not post these products on their website.

These products are basically dead and were developed ages ago to be transmitted by Morse code. I therefore suggest to open a debate on whether there is justification to continue to include them in XyGrib. There are considerably better low bandwidth products such as weather fax charts that can be delivered via saildocs.com.

I personally would consider a weather chart overlay facility in XyGrib with integrated download as a better option than IAC Fleet Code. This could provide much richer content covering many more sailing areas and this would still be considered as low bandwidth data.

I agree with the idea of not keeping IAC Fleet* and focuse on the synoptic charts that we can get via saildocs (from NOAA, UK Met, DWD, ... services that provide very good products in light weight files, so easily accessible via low-speed connexion.

* The Fidji Met Sevice still provide IAC situation and 24h synaptic forecast via saildocs (fleet.nadi as text) readable in Opencpn.

Resources on this site will always be free and open with no commercialization. However, operating costs of the servers to pre-process and deliver GRIB files to XyGrib are not trivial.
