Hello,
No XyGrib cannot convert grib2 to grib nor grib1to grib2.

I try this : manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/disco/man1/cnvgrib2to1.1.html but no conversion at all (reverse cnvgrib1to2 work very well.

I found that : code.mpimet.mpg.de/projects/cdo but I also read somewhere that grib2 to grib1 is impossible or nearly impossible because of the structure of grib1 files that cannot integrate some elements of grib2 (I cannot find again where I read that)
