Thank you very much for the quick response. In fact, I was able to use the appimage on ubuntu 18.04 and it works great. The reason to build it from the sources is to solve a small problem that drags zyGrib and consequently xyGrib too. It is about the fact that when we use the Spanish language, the little sign that our expression "praparando mapas" is poorly translated. The correct expression is "preparando mapas". That's why I was trying to build to correct that little mistake, but it's no big deal.
On the other hand the Raspberry Pi question is important because zyGrib is a very important part of OpenPlotter which is a complete maritime navigation system based on Rpi. There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of Openplotter users and keeping the software as up-to-date as possible is a priority. The jump from zyGrib to xyGrib is therefore an important question for us to consider and we are so interested. maybe an appimage built to arm the issue?
