New to OpenGribs and gribs in general - just learning. Prior to downloading a file for a specific area, one must be connected to the Internet. My computer is connected but the "download - GRIB" window has the "Download" button greyed out. I click on "Connection" button and have a choice of "Direct connection to Internet" or "Connection with a proxy". As I am at home, I clicked on "Direct" but it makes no difference. Any ideas how to connect and download files? Thank you.

Hi,
The download button will remain greyed out until you have selected an area on the map (prior to opening the download dialog) and it also needs you to select a model and at least one parameter.
The connection button is only needed if you need to connect via a proxy and is not needed in most cases.
You might wish to try the quick start tutorial. github.com/opengribs/XyGrib/wiki/Quick-Start

Resources on this site will always be free and open with no commercialization. However, operating costs of the servers to pre-process and deliver GRIB files to XyGrib are not trivial.
