Hi,
This problem is not only with the XyGrib files. It is also in charts on the website.
These are examples of charts for last Ref (12Z28OCT2019). The black circles show that precipitation does not change in some hours.

Hi,
I cannot replicate the problem even with on line charts.
May be a problem with the cache of your browser ?

Hi,
I've tried it on more than one browser and on more than one device and the same problem.
The problem is in both website charts and XyGrib file.
Precipitation in some areas remains fixed and does not change for several hours.

Thanks,

Hi,
Some of screen shots from XyGrib file ( Ref date and time: 00Z 26OCT2019).
The circles in black color show the problem for several hours.

Thanks,

Hello Ameerrh,

I took a close look and found that there is no problem in the grib file or in the program.

This can easily be shown by going to "Weather Map" -> "Weather Options" then remove the selection from "Numerical Data Interpolation" and also from "Smooth Colours". These actions will expose the 4km pixels of the forecast with no interpolation and also with more distinct colours for each precipitation range.

The series of screen shots attached show that the precipitation forecast is actually changing every hour in the areas that you designated as problematic. The attached meteogram image of one of the pixels in the area west of Rafah that you designated shows varying precipitation amounts even in the same colour range.

I must admit that at first look the forecast look as if it was repeating. However, and examination of the general picture of the rather unusual system that the area experienced showed that there was almost no dynamic transportation of the system on Thursday afternoon which is quite unique. There was a very static low at higher levels locking the lower system in place. Levels of CAPE in near area were above 2500 j/kg causing very significant convection generating significant precipitation. This was not being transported at all! Therefore the convection and rain were continuing in-situ giving a static appearance of the precipitation picture.

Cheers,
David
